The Plant Cell Wall Biology Conference is an international scientific meeting dedicated to plant cell wall research. It focuses on the latest discoveries in fundamental plant cell wall biology and the applications that arise from this knowledge.
Traditionally held in various global locations, it is now being hosted in Santiago, Chile, at Andres Bello University, and for the first time in Latin America.

The 8th International Conference on Plant Cell Wall Biology will be a hybrid meeting (on-site and online). However, we encourage you to attend the meeting on-site and meet your colleagues worldwide. The conference will allow people to network in person, share research findings, and establish new national and international collaborations to study the cell walls of model plant species and crops.
Also, you will be able to visit the city of Santiago and get to see its emblematic neighborhoods, taste Chilean cuisine and wines, and experience the impressive Andes mountains.
That is not all! There has been a tour organized specially for the occasion, to one of the most recognized vineyards in the country, where you will live the unique experience of a guided walk through the vineyards, tastings of Chile’s famous wines, and a special dinner for the delegation.

The main auditorium of La Casona has a seating capacity of 300 people comfortably and has excellent acoustics. It was named after José María Aznar, former Spanish president, who was awarded an honorary degree in 2006.  
Its library houses important bibliographic collections. For example, the "Sergio Villalobos" collection, containing material from this renowned national historian and characterized by its invaluable historical value.

The Casona de las Condes Campus of the Andrés Bello University is located in the Las Condes district.  This is a place where tradition and modernity come together.  The campus is now a major architectural and heritage landmark, with a century-old existence.
This old manor house is placed in a beautiful setting, nestled in a peaceful pre-Andean enclave of approximately 8 hectares.  Its closest and most important reference is Avenida Las Condes, at the 13,000 marks.
Its construction dates back to the year 1560. The work was carried out by Antón Días, a Spanish soldier who had come with Diego de Almagro and had been a comrade-in-arms of Pedro de Valdivia.
In 1982 it was declared a National Monument and by 1992 it was acquired to be transformed into a campus where students, staff and academics come together and learn.  Today, it is one of the most emblematic campuses of the Andrés Bello University.

There are different accommodation options available. Transportation from the hotel to the venue, in the morning, and from the venue to the hotels, in the evening, is included in the registration fee.
Additionally, there is public transportation nearby, and Uber is popular in Santiago.
